From garage to global player – our story
A family business that doesn’t just claim quality, but builds it.
When Uli Münzenmaier started in his garage in 2010, one thing was clear: a deep drilling shaft must be more than just a component – it must function reliably in the process. Münzus Tiefbohrtechnik was born from this conviction. What began with the first pipes is now a globally valued partner for demanding applications.

Our strength lies in experience, craftsmanship – and in our conscious independence: we do not manufacture deep hole drills ourselves and are not tied to any manufacturer. This allows us to provide neutral advice, deliver flexibly and consistently align our shafts with the requirements of our customers – not with the product specifications of third parties.
This attitude has shaped our path from the beginning – and runs like a common thread through our company history:
From garage to global player
Our history
2010 – Foundation in Neuffen
With over 20 years of experience in deep hole drilling technology, Uli Münzenmaier founded Münzus Tiefbohrtechnik in January 2010. It started – typically Swabian – in the local garage, where initial contacts were made with well-known deep hole drill manufacturers and the first pipes were produced.
2012 – Own hardening machine developed
Since March 2012, we have been hardening our pipes on a specially developed system. An important step towards complete control of product quality.
2013 – First export deliveries
Just one year later, the first pipes went to other European countries.
2014 – Relocation to Kohlberg
In May 2014, we moved to today’s workshop in Kohlberg – with significantly expanded production space.
2016 – Worldwide deliveries
From 2016, we have been supplying our deep drilling shafts worldwide. The Kohlberg location has become a quality feature.
2017 – Growth of the team
Due to increasing demand, son Heiko joined the company in March 2017, accompanied by other new employees.
2018 – Establishment of the GmbH
In May 2018, Münzus Tiefbohrtechnik GmbH was founded.
2019 – Expansion of production technology
The planning, design and construction of additional production facilities – many of them our own developments – strengthened our vertical range of manufacture.
2020 – Complete production in-house
Since May 2020, all deep hole drilling shafts have been manufactured entirely in-house – from pre-processing to final quality control.
2023 – Sustainable energy through photovoltaics
Since summer 2023, we have been sourcing some of our energy from our own PV system in a climate-neutral way.
2024 – Own performance test bench
At the beginning of 2024, a self-developed test bench was put into operation, on which our pipes are tested and documented.
Today – Continuous further development
Automation, optimized processes and strict quality features characterize our daily work. Our aim remains: to get better – every day. Also in the future.

Behind our deep drilling shafts are people who understand their craft. Father and son combine decades of knowledge with new ideas. As a family business, we think long-term and stand by our name for every tool that leaves our company.
